MRI, Flouroscopy, X-Ray and Bracing
For the convenience of our patients, Southern Oregon Orthopedics also offers access to a number of other services at our clinic.
We operate and staff our own on-site extremity Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) facility. MRI studies provide additional diagnostic information that is not available on x-rays, particularly when we are considering soft tissue, such as cartilage. Having this equipment on-site makes it possible for our physicians to evaluate patient conditions and schedule an in-house MRI as quickly and conveniently as possible.
We also operate and staff our own X-Ray facility on-site, for the convenience and care of our patients. We understand that when you are in pain from a condition, illness or injury, you don’t want to wait long or go far to receive different aspects of your treatment. Having X-Ray imaging capabilities and a qualified staff inside the clinic offers our patients the most efficient option available for a thorough diagnosis and accurate treatment.
As part of our commitment to every aspect of bone health, Southern Oregon Orthopedics is proud to offer in-house fluoroscopy for the highest level of convenience and diagnosis for our hand and wrist patients. Flouroscopy is similar to X-Ray technology, but it offers us the ability to see moving images, which give us more information about complex moving parts, like the wrist. It is always our goal to give our patients the most accurate diagnosis and effective treatment, in the most efficient time frame possible.
Orthopedic braces are devices used to control, guide, limit or immobilize an extremity, joint or body segment for the purpose of healing. A brace may restrict or assist movement in a specific direction or reduce weight bearing forces on part of the body. Braces are often used as part of the rehabilitation process after a fracture or surgical recovery. Braces are made using a variety of materials, including metal, plastic, elastic and other materials. Our in-house Bracing Clinic offers the ability to customize a brace for the specific needs of our patients. These devices are typically covered by all major insurance providers, including Medicare, as they fall into the category of Durable Medical Equipment (DME). As with all our services, it is our goal to provide our patients with everything they need to become as mobile and healthy as possible, in the shortest time frame, by the most efficient methods, after surgery or injury. We look forward to helping you recover the most mobility possible in order to return you to the activities of your daily life.
